Water vessel. Grown and made by Elise Goodge. Made of gourd, wood, chord, paua shell. (18cm high, 13cm wide) Gourds were used as water vessels before the advent of glass and plastic. This bottle uses a traditional stopper method where the top of the gourd is removed and inverted. The patterning on the gourd was created by mould as the gourd dried. The patterning was so unique and beautiful I decided not to augment it further.
